It’s no secret that I’m a huge proponent of Jiu-Jitsu. In fact, I’m sure you guys get sick of me talking about it on the podcast so much. But I do because over the past year and a half, I’ve come to find immense value in the practice and seen the benefits (sometimes hidden) of what it offers.
My guest today is someone who I’ve been following for quite some time. His name is Nick Albin “Chewy” and he’s a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt. Today we discuss, the masochistic nature of Jiu-Jitsu, personal responsibility in training, dialing the intensity of your training both up and down, how Jiu-Jitsu can serve as a therapy session of sorts, and the hidden value of the discipline.

My guest today is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt, Nick Albin (affectionately referred to as Chewy). I came across his work as I was studying, learning, and researching Jiu-Jitsu.
He’s got an incredible YouTube channel (Chewjitsu) filled with ideas, strategies, insights, tactics, and mindsets for improving your game. And, he’s been indirectly instrumental in helping me improve my game as I dive deeper down the rabbit hole of something that has become a critical part of my week and life.
"Of course, you learn from your losses because it stings." Tweet That
This message is for fathers with a son(s) between the ages of 8 -15. I know that Father’s Day is coming up this weekend and it’s likely that you’ll be getting an ugly tie and/or some homemade arts and crafts.
That’s all fine and great but you know as a father that giving is better than getting. So, if you’re looking to give your son(s) an experience they’ll never forget, consider joining us at our first-ever Legacy Experience in Maine.
This is a 3 ½ day event designed to forge tighter bonds with you and your boy and give both him and you the tools, resources, frameworks, and mindset to thrive, as men, in challenging and uncertain times.
You’re both going to be pushed physically, mentally, and emotionally but you’re going to leave with a better relationship and the skills you need to usher your son into manhood.
The event is going to be held September 3rd – 6th and we only have 5 spots remaining. Learn more and lock in your spot at www.orderofman.com/ironcouncil to learn more and lock in your spot.
