Hollywood is at the forefront of the sexualization of society. Unfortunately, many in the entertainment industry just aren’t willing to speak up and against what is taking place and working to combat that sexualization and the increasing pornography epidemic. But it’s not only that, much of the way we see culture is shaped through the lens of what Hollywood wants to promote, not necessarily what we want to see.
My guest today has been inside since he was just a boy. His name is Ricky Schroder and he’s made it his life’s mission to bring moral, heroic stories to the silver screen and to fight against the rampant pornography industry. Today, we talk about how Hollywood is a reflection of society, what he refers to as “counter programming,” whether or not 1st amendment rights actually do cover pornography, how pedophilia is being pushed as a “sexual orientation,” and how to course-correct the degeneracy in Hollywood.
My guest today is actor (or, as he refers to it during our conversation, “an asset"), producer, and the Founder of the Reel American Heroes Foundation, Ricky Schroder.
He began his acting career at age nine in The Champ, earned a Golden Globe®, and kicked off a multifaceted career as an Actor, Producer, Writer, and Director renowned for roles in Silver Spoons, Lonesome Dove, and Scrubs.
Since then, he founded Reel American Heroes Foundation, a nonprofit organization that exists to provide content that celebrates America’s true heroes. That foundation has also created the Council on Pornography Reform which exists to promote a safer, more responsible digital landscape in the adult film industry creeping onto the screens of our children at an increasingly early age.
