There is no doubt that a dog is a man's best friend. They're loyal, hardworking, and dedicated to the task at hand and the men who care for them. But, training a dog posses a set of unique challenges - I know, I have a new puppy myself.
Today, Navy SEAL Mike Ritland, joins me to talk about how we can better connect with our dogs, the biggest challenges when training, the best way to communicate with them, learning patience, and why exactly dogs are a man's best friend.

Guys, I'm stoked to bring this interview to you.
A couple months ago my 8-year-old son brought home a book from a book fair title, Navy SEAL Dogs, and asked if I would read it to him.
Each night I'd read it to him while we'd both get lost in tales of the finest military working dogs out there.
In fact, the book inspired my son and I to get our own German Shepherd puppy, which is now 4 months old.
I wanted to learn more about the man who wrote the book and trained these dogs so I looked up the author and, after learning more about him and enrolling in his dog training course, I knew I had to have him on the show.
His name is Mike Ritland and he spent 12 years as a Navy SEAL where he trained military dogs as well as training for the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, TSA, and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.
Not only that, Mike is the author of three books, Navy SEAL Dogs, Team Dog, and Trident K9Warriors. He contributes to Fox, NBC, ABC, Sofrep, and Men's Journal so you know the guy knows what he's talking about. He even collaborated on the game, Call of Duty: Ghosts.
And, on top of all that, he founded a non-profit called Warrior Dog Foundation geared towards serving military working dogs and their families.
Fellas, if you've got a dog, or are thinking about getting one, stay tuned as this guys is about to drop some serious K9 knowledge.
