Every man knows that building effective and productive habits and systems is a crucial part of teeing him up for success. But, knowing and doing are two different things. And, it seems to me that most men fail to bridge the gap between the two because they don’t know how to build those habits into their lives.
That’s why I’m stoked to bring you into the conversation that James Clear, the author of Atomic Habits, and I had about the subject. Today we discuss why you should focus more about systems and processes rather than goals, the power of changing your identity over changing your habits, an interesting take on discipline, will-power, and self-control you probably haven’t heard of, and focusing on the fundamental unit of progress and ultimate success.

Gents, I’m stoked to introduce you to my guest today, Mr. James Clear.
James has been covering the topic of habits, systems, goals, and processes for a very long time and, last year, he wrote a book titled Atomic Habits. Many of you have probably read it. At the time, we weren’t able to schedule a podcast but I’m honored that we were able to have him on now.
He’s the creator of the Habits Academy, a weightlifter, photographer, and a New York Times Best Selling Author and he’s been focusing on biology, neuroscience, psychology, and philosophy to help men become more successful on their own individual paths.
I know you’re really going to enjoy this one and get a ton of value from it.

Gent’s, I just need to interrupt very quickly because I want to let you know that inside our exclusive brotherhood, the Iron Council, we’re doing a deep-dive into the subject of this conversation – habits.
The 500+ men are uncovering the habits that are working for and against them, creating the systems to ensure they stick with the good habits and eliminate the bad, and holding each other accountable to staying on the path.
In fact, many of the practices that James and I have been discussing in this podcast are the very practices and strategies we’re employing inside the Iron Council.
