5 Manly Fragrances That Will Put Hair On Your Chest

So, you’re a guy that prides himself on manliness. You like to spend time outdoors leading the charge during the neighborhood barbecue. Afterwards, you treat your audience to a display of fireworks that delivers explosions your future generations will tell stories about.

If you claim you are a manly man, this article is for you. These men’s fragrances are not for the faint of heart and should only be worn by an alpha male looking to further enhance their image.

Without delay, here is the list you’ve been waiting for. Fasten those belt buckles because we aren’t in Kansas anymore.

Hugo by Hugo Boss (1995)

Top notes: Grapefruit, Green Apple, Pine Needles, Thyme, Spearmint, Basil, Cedar Leaves, Rum
Middle notes: Jasmine, Sage, Geranium Leaves, Cloves, Lavender, Cedarwood
Base notes: Moss, Fir Balsam, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Suede

So, you're a man that has a day off from work finally and you have plans to knock out some of those “manly chores” around your house.

Maybe your sink needs to be fixed or a fence needs to be built. If you’re going to be around the house in a casual environment, you need something that matches your mood and goals for the day.

This is where Hugo Boss steps up to the plate and hits a home run. The opening of this fragrance is fresh, pleasing, and inoffensive. It’s a perfect fragrance to wear during the spring and summer while you’re busy getting stuff done and you just need to smell clean.

Hugo Boss is now considered a classic, so that adds to the manliness of the scent. A part of smelling like a tough guy is going with something a little older.

Choose this scent if you’re looking for something a little lighter, inoffensive, and doesn’t have the spicy notes many fragrances have.

Azzaro pour Homme by Azzaro (1978)

Top notes: Lavender, Geranium, Anise, Pettigrain
Middle notes: Vetiver, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Oakmoss, Cardamom, Basil, Lemon
Base notes: Musk, Ambergris

Today is the day you’re heading to the barbershop to get cleaned up. You’re going to get a nice haircut and maybe your beard needs a little trimming because it oozes too much manliness.

The manly scent you should be wearing is this 1978 masterpiece. Your man friends will be looking up to you for wearing this fragrance because they will recognize it from when their fathers wore this.

Azzaro pour Homme is fresh, elegant, sexy, and masculine all at the same time. The dominant notes are lavender and oak moss and they will take you back to the 70s where life was pretty fun.

Wear this cologne if you’re searching for the old school barbershop smell. Since it’s an older scent, you will smell like a man since your dad may have worn this fragrance.

Drakkar Noir by Guy Laroche (1982)

Top notes: Basil, Rosemary, Green Mint, Verbena, Lavender, Lemon
Middle notes: Angelica, Wormwood, Coriander, Juniper
Base notes: Patchouli, Oakmoss, Cedarwood, Pine needle, Balsam

Today you’re heading out to the woods to show mother nature how tough you are. After several hours of cutting wood, you decide to build a campfire for a little warmth. While the fire is burning, you realize you’re starting to get hungry so you head out to catch some fish.

Drakkar Noir is what you need to be wearing for your outdoors adventure. During the “grunge years” when this fragrance was king, it was ok to smell a little less clean especially after smoking from your pipe.

If you grew up during the 80s, this is the smell you experienced. If you didn’t grow up during this time period, smell this fragrance and you will know how it smelled. Despite being over 30 years old, this is still one of the most sold fragrances today, probably because men stick to it like it’s their Holy Grail.

You should give Drakkar Noir a shot if 1) You need a little thickness in your mustache, 2) You grew up during the 80s, and 3) you're going to be outdoors. Drakkar Noir can be pretty strong if you over-spray this cologne, so using this outside might be a good idea.

Fahrenheit by Christian Dior (1988)

Top notes: Lavender, Mandarin Orange, Hawthorn, Nutmeg Flower, Cedar, Bergamot, Chamomile, Lemon
Middle notes: Nutmeg, Honeysuckle, Carnation, Sandalwood, Violet Leaf, Jasmine, Lily-Of-The-Valley
Basenotes: Leather, Tonka Bean, Amber, Patchouli, Musk, Vetiver

An actual person said Fahrenheit by Christian Dior “is like a testosterone boot to the head.” What more validation of manliness do you need after hearing something like that? So if you’re ready to get your inner rage on, you should be wearing this fragrance. I don’t care if you’re planning on getting punched, or taking a punch, Fahrenheit by Christian Dior shall be at your side.

Fahrenheit is a woody, floral musk that can make birds chirp with manliness as you walk by. The note that you won’t be able to miss is leather which fully engulfs you into the fragrance. Fahrenheit is also a non-linear fragrance which means as the day goes on, the fragrance will continue to change and smell differently.

If you’re looking for a fragrance that is extremely masculine, shows a lot of personality, sensuality, and confidence, you need to pick up this fragrance.

La Nuit de L’Homme by Yves Saint Laurent (2009)

Top notes: Cardamom
Middle notes: Bergamot, Virginia Cedar, Lavender
Base notes: Vetiver, Caraway

Maybe you’re a little younger and want to take your Harley for a ride. You flex your man meat muscles in the mirror before starting your engine and you want to smell good. Thats where La Nuit comes into play. This fragrance is one of the best smelling scents that nobody wears.

Your man friends will rant and rave about this scent because of its masculinity. Besides manliness, you’ll find sophistication, longevity, great sillage, and spice. In today’s world where there are abundances floral and light smelling fragrances, it’s an absolute delight to smell something a little manly in these times.

You should try La Nuit if you’re looking for a scent that matches your manly personality. Wear this fragrance when you’re off making loud noises on your bike and head butting unsuspecting personnel.
